The Islamic Finance News is holding a one-day itinerary forum in the financial capitals of the world in which the most controversial issues of Islamic finance are debated and future scenarios suggested.
13 – 16 OCTOBER 2008 – ISTANBUL : “ISLAMIC FINANCE FORUM – NEW MARKETS”
Highlighting the growing appetite for Islamic products from Muslims and non-Muslims the summit explored the current state and possibilities of development of Islamic finance in new markets like Turkey, Central Asia, the European Union and Latin America.
22 JULY 2008 – LONDON : INNOVATIVE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
The seminar focused on the growing investors and customers appetite for value-added returns especially in riskier asset classes such as derivatives, fixed-income, capital markets and private equity products.
14 – 16 JULY 2008 – LONDON : “THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL TAKAFUL SUMMIT 2008”
Alberto Brugnoni chaired what is emerging as the world event on Takāful in the Western countries. It was preceded by a Masterclass and was opened by the Lord Mayor of the City of London.
8 JULY 2008 – LONDON : “THE WORLD ISLAMIC BANKING CONFERENCE : EUROPEAN SUMMIT”
The 15th anniversary of the world’s largest gathering of Islamic finance leaders has for the first time convened in the UK as a further testimony of the growing role of London as the leading western financial centre of Islamic finance.
25 – 26 JUNE 2008 – LONDON : “2008 SUKUK SUMMIT”
This annual event gathered the most important players of the international Sukuk market and was graced by the special address of Kitty Ussher, the UK Economic Secretary to the Treasury.
28 – 29 MAY 2008 – GENEVA : “ISLAMIC FINANCE: INTEGRATION INTO THE FINANCIAL MAINSTREAM”
This conference examined some critical issues arising from the implementation of Islamic finance from the jurist, legal, and practical perspectives. It focused on how to create Shariah-compliance in financial products, and on how to incorporate Islamic Finance into the conventional financial mainstream.
21 MAY 2008 – LONDON : “LEGAL STRUCTURES AND DOCUMENTATION”
Alberto Brugnoni attended this seminar that provided a detailed insight into the legal structures and documentation needed by the Islamic finance industry and on the relations with the law of the land.
19 MAY 2008 – LONDON : “WOMEN IN ISLAMIC FINANCE”
Valentino Cattelan attended on behalf of ASSAIF this first-of-its-kind event on the role of women in Islamic finance. The seminar, hosted by Norton Rose, saw the contribution of key female players on Islamic finance.
